What is an implant?

Dental implant is a conical cylindrical screw resembling the root of a tooth made of titanium metal that can be bonded to the jawbone. This screw is designed to replace the root of the tooth and the crown and veneer of the tooth are placed on it. People who have lost one or more of their teeth or have complete edentulousness can use implants to regain the beauty of their smile and their ability to chew. The age of implant placement in women is after 15 and in men after 18.

A variety of treatment methods

When a tooth is missing

In this case, the old solution was to cut the teeth adjacent to the edentulous area to replace the missing single tooth (bridge). The shortcoming is that it leads to poor hygiene of adjacent teeth which, consequently, may result in tooth decay. It also brings about gradual bone resorption in the edentulous area. You can use AVITA implants to restore a lost tooth and the beauty of your smile. In this way, an implant can replace a lost tooth without damaging adjacent teeth.

When several teeth are missing

The old solution was to use gum tissue and adjacent teeth of the edentulous area to make a removable denture. The prosthesis had disadvantages such as the pressure of the clamps on the base teeth, loosening of adjacent teeth, their susceptibility to decay, and worst of all, gingival sagging. Use AVITA implants instead of missing teeth: You can choose one of the two fixed or removable prosthesis treatment plans according to your dentist.

When all teeth are missing

The old solution is to use full removable dentures that have problems such as looseness, lack of taste in food, speaking difficulty, gingivitis and other problems. With AVITA dental implants, after implantation and fixation of the prosthesis in the mouth, the natural joy of life, comfort and beauty can be restored.

How to treat edentulousness with implant placement

After local anesthesia in the desired area, according to the selected treatment plan and bone thickness, the implant is placed in the jawbone, which takes 3 to 6 months to be bonded. After the bone grafting period, the implants provide a solid foundation for the treatment plan. In some cases, for the convenience of the patient until the main prosthesis is made, a temporary prosthesis is designed on the implant so that the operation of speaking and chewing can be done easily. The patient must carefully follow all the instructions of the dentist’s treatment.

Ways to maintain and care for dental implants

The most important thing you should do after implant placement is proper and optimal care and maintenance of implants. This is not difficult at all by following your oral hygiene and following the advice of your dentist, and it is exactly the same as taking care of your natural teeth daily.

  • Brush at least twice a day
  • dental floss
  • Antibacterial mouthwash
  • Pills that eliminate plaque buildup
  • Interdental toothbrushes
  • Soft and small electric or manual toothbrush
  • Toothpaste removes tartar and plaque
  • Use dental waterjet devices to better rinse your mouth after brushing
